Bodywise Pilates matwork studio

Bodywise Pilates is a fully equipped Pilates and rehabilitation studio in Salisbury, Wiltshire, open since December 2008. At Bodywise Pilates all of our teachers are qualified with the Pilates Foundation UK, the highest possible standard in Pilates training. We offer group matwork classes for all levels of ability, as well as chair-based classes for those with restricted mobility, and classes for pregnant women. We also offer studio classes on the Pilates equipment (reformers, cadillacs, stability chairs, and barrels), either on a one-to-one / two-to-one basis or in groups. At Bodywise Pilates classes are small in order to give you as much individual attention as possible (maximum of 10 people in matwork classes, maximum of 4 people in studio classes). Please go to the classes page to see the full timetable and other class information. We also run a Pilates Foundation accredited Matwork Teacher-Training Programme, for people wanting to become Pilates teachers (please contact us for more information).

If you would like to know our term dates, please refer to the classes page and scroll down to 'Term Dates 2017'.

THE STUDIO IS CLOSED FOR CHRISTMAS, FROM FRIDAY 22ND DECEMBER 2017 TO THURSDAY 4TH JANUARY 2018.

The Pilates Foundation

The Pilates Foundation is the only not-for-profit professional Pilates organisation in the UK, and it is the only Pilates organisation that is recognized by the NHS Trusts Association in its Directory of Health Service Providers. The Pilates Foundation is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of the Pilates Method and providing the highest possible standards of training and teaching. The Pilates Foundation trains its teachers more thoroughly and for longer than any other Pilates teacher-training organisation in the world. The matwork training lasts for 1 year, and the equipment training is an additional 18 months - 2 years or more, involving hundreds of hours of assisting qualified teachers and a thorough grounding in anatomy and physiology (with case studies, essays, and both written and practical exams). In comparison, some Pilates teacher-training organisations offer teaching qualifications in as little as 6 days!!! All Pilates Foundation members are bound by a strict Code of Conduct and Ethics. To maintain their affiliation to the Pilates Foundation, teachers are required to participate in continued professional development and training courses each year, as well as having up-to-date insurance and First Aid certification. Bodywise Pilates is currently the only studio in the south west to run a Pilates Foundation accredited Matwork Teacher-Training Course: please contact us for more information on the next course, starting in February 2017.
